Joyce, a  parent of one of the deceased Mukumu Girls students, has come out to narrate what happened.

Last week Tuesday, Joyce received information from the Deputy Principal that she should head to school to pick up her daughter.

She heeded the call and showed up at the school the following day.

"We took her to the hospital after she was told she has a bacterial infection then she was given drugs and told to go take the drugs at home," Joyce said.

That was on Wednesday.

On Thursday, Joyce said her daughter, Wendy,  took her medicine well.

Joyce said she was in communication with Wendy all day. She was in the company of her elder sister in Bungoma.

The same day at night, Joyce says she had a telephone conversation with Wendy who said she was fine but complained of feeling weak.

When Friday came, Wendy called her mother to say she was not feeling well.

So Joyce rushed to her daughter's aid.

"But before I reached there, I got the news that she had passed on," Joyce said.

She said that morning, Wendy just collapsed and died.

" I  have been with her throughout her life, she was a beautiful girl, beautiful at heart, beautiful even in the face. Everything she did she was the best at it," she said.

"I have lost a daughter, I have lost a friend, I have lost my mentor. I have lost my all."
