Ruto's message to Muslims: Pray for our nation

President William Ruto has conveyed a message of goodwill to Muslims as they observe the month of Ramadan.

Ruto has also used the opportunity to call on the Muslim faithful to use the fasting period to pray for the country even as they seek to deepen their personal worship and connection with God.

“I want to share the message of goodwill with our Muslim compatriots as they embark on observing this important pillar of Islam. I urge you to pray for our nation as you increase your devotion to Allah,” he said.

In the video clip he has been captured having a chitchat with Muslim kids at State House, Ruto said as a Christian he recognizes the period since they share such events and pillars.

“As a Christian, I also take time to understand other religions. Fasting is also found in the Bible as it is in the Quran,” Ruto told to the kids.

The Council of Imams and Preachers of Kenya (CIPK) Organising Secretary, Sheikh Mohamed Khalif said the sighting of the crescent marks the start of Ramadhan.
