She said that during the upcoming celebrations of International Women's Day, women should also come out dressed in locally made 'Vitenge'.

"Let's come the way we are today, as African women," she said.

She said that the Chief Guest at the Ministry's Maiden International Women's Day (IWD) would be President William Ruto whom she praised for being a champion of Gender Equality.

Women Leaders have been advocating for the wearing of locally-made clothes.

Last week, Kenya Women Parliamentary Association Members donned 'Vitenge' to the National Assembly and Senate.

They did so in support of Small and Medium Enterprises across the country.
