Tik Tok sensation and radio host Azziad Nasenya on Monday thanked Sports CS Ababu Namwamba for nominating her for a state job.

This comes after Ababu established the Creatives Technical Committee through a gazette notice on February 10, 2023, of which Azziad is a member.

"I sincerely thank honourable Ababu Namwamba and the entire Ministry of Youth Affairs, Sports and the Arts team for nominating me to be part of the Creatives Technical Committee," Azziad said.

"I am a firm believer in the potential of the creative economy as a fulfilling career and source of income, and beneficiary of the same."

The committee will be chaired by Comedian Daniel Ndambuki popularly known as Churchill and will serve for a period of three years.

Other members of the committee include; Akinyi Odongo, Jimmi Gathu, Esther ‘Akothee’ Akoth, Kizito Makhande, Rosemary Wahu Kagwi, Awadhi Salim Awadhi, Douglas Kipkirui, and Langat Susan Ekasiba.

The social media influencer reaffirmed her commitment to do her best in her new role and promised to deliver on her mandate.

"I, therefore, commit to applying my knowledge and experiences gained in the digital space as a content creator to support the growth of the creative sector and ensure that the vision of Talanta Hela is realised," Azziad said.

"I am ready to work with fellow colleagues in the committee and all industry stakeholders to fulfil the mandate bestowed upon me. I believe that with your support, the future of the creative economy is bright. Together let us put money in our pockets."

CS Namwamba highlighted that the Creatives Technical Committee shall propose reliable systems for the seamless and accountable collection and distribution of royalties to all creatives and implementation frameworks for the National Creatives Economy Plan.

Azziad's appointment is still controversial on social media as it's still sparking conversations from her fans and critics in equal measure.
