Data from the Kenya Demographic Health Survey of 2022 has shown that Bungoma tops the list with the highest number of women who have experienced sexual violence.
The survey looked into women aged 15 to 49 years who had ever experienced sexual violence across the country.
"Thirty per cent came from Bungoma, followed by Murang'a at 24 per cent," the survey found.
Homabay followed closely at 23 per cent.

"Embu had 24 per cent of women, Nyandarua had 18 per cent and Narok also had 18 per cent of women who had been sexually assaulted," the survey read.
The counties with the lowest number of sexually assaulted women were Mandera, Marsabit and Kitui at one per cent each.
"Wajir and Tana River followed at two per cent, Kericho at three per cent, Kwale at four per cent and Makueni at five per cent," it read.
Other notable counties include Nairobi at 12 per cent, Kiambu at 17 per cent, Nakuru at 14 per cent, Kisumu at 11 per cent, Kisii at 16 per cent and Mombasa at 10 per cent.
