Over 1,995 APs graduate at Embakasi College

More than 1,995 administration police officers graduate from a training programme at Embakasi on Wednesday.

President William Ruto presided over the pass-out parade of the officers in the AP Training College in Embakasi.

Ruto named several measures undertaken by the government regarding the terms of employment, conditions of service and welfare of police officers.

"I recently appointed a task force to review the conditions of service for the police and prison officers," he said.

"Their report and recommendations shall chart a clear and actionable path to significant improvement of the terms of service and employment of our policemen and women and prison officers."

Ruto was accompanied by Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua, Interior CS Kithure Kindiki among other leaders.

The DP urged the officers to maintain professionalism and dedication to the service.

"The event was nostalgic for me as it reminded me of my own pass-out parade some 32 years ago on the same grounds," the DP said.

"As the recruits take an oath to be loyal to the President and the Republic of Kenya, I want to encourage them to perform their duty, protect life and property and maintain law and order."

On Tuesday, Ruto also presided over the police pass-out at National Police College-Main Campus, Kiganjo.
