Captain Gilbert Kibe has resigned as Communication Authority Chairperson.

In a letter addressed to President William Ruto and seen by the Star, Kibe said he resigned to personal interests.

'Due to personal interests that I wish to pursue, I hereby tender my resignation as chairman of the Board of Directors of the Communications Authority of Kenya with effect from 01 December 2022," Kibe wrote.

'I take this opportunity to sincerely thank you for according me the opportunity to serve in this important and strategic regulatory agency for the last seven months."

Information and Communication Cabinet Secretary Eliud Owalo, who was copied by Kibe, confirmed to have received the letter.

Retired President Uhuru Kenyatta had Kibe as the Chairman of the CAK Chairperson on 17 May, 2022.

Prior to his appointment, Kibe worked as the Kenya Civil Aviation Authority Director-General.
