No expectant student missed KCPE, KPSEA exams – official

Two Grade 6 pupils are among 66 expectant candidates in Murang’a who wrote the national exams.

Nine expectant candidates are among those who will be concluding their KCPE examinations.

Murang’a county director of education Ann Kiilu said the expectant candidates did their exams with the rest.

“None of the expectant KPSEA and KCPE candidates did their exams in the labour ward but for those sitting for KCSE we may have delivery cases,” Kiilu said.

She said they have made arrangements to ensure candidates who may be admitted to the labour ward are invigilated and supervised as they do their examinations.

Kiilu said the county had not reported any case of malpractice. 26, 234 candidates sat for KCPE in 625 centres and another 24, 985 pupils did their KPSEA exams.

“All involved officers are working in cooperation to ensure Murang’a will deliver credible examination results. The government has also deployed enough security officers to man all examination centres,” Kiilu said.

Meanwhile, 31,197 candidates are sitting for the ongoing KCSE examination in 343 centres.
