Parents now want the junior secondary to be domiciled in primary school.
Jasper Omwega from the National Parents Association Nairobi branch said the learners will not be comfortable with secondary school learners.
Omwega was speaking during the education reforms review team forum on public participation at the University of Nairobi.
“As parents, we are not comfortable with our 11-year-old learners being in the same environment with 17 or 18-year-olds,” Omwega said.
He also decried the lack of involvement of parents during the rollout of the curriculum.
Omwega urged that the government caters for assessment-related expenses.
“We end up paying for photocopying and downloading all assessments,” he said.
