Environment ministry will be safe under Tuya, says Tobiko

Tobiko made the remarks in a meeting with German delegates on Friday.

Outgoing Environment and Forestry Cabinet Secretary Keriako Tobiko has said he is confident that the Ministry is in safe hands once his nominated successor Soipan Tuya takes over.

Tobiko made the remarks in a meeting with German delegates on Friday. Tuya was also in attendance. 

Tuya who was appointed to the docket by President William Ruto is awaiting approval by the National assembly before she starts her new role.  

The meeting was held to discuss among other things Kenya-German relations in regard to clean energy, environmental conservation and preparation ahead of the COP 27 which is to be held in Sharma El Sheikh in Egypt.

The Germany delegation was led by German State Secretary and special   Envoy on climate change, Jennifer Morgan.

Also present were German to Kenya ambassador Sebastian Groth and Environment PS Kiptoo CK among other technical professionals.

Outgoing Energy Cabinet Secretary Ambassador Monica Juma was in attendance.
