Deputy president Rigathi Gachagua has said the Kenya Kwanza presidential win in last month's polls was the greatest miracle of God.

Speaking during the thanksgiving service at State House on Sunday, he said their victory was God-allowed and given.

"The ascendance of William Ruto as President and I as his deputy is one of the great miracles of the almighty God," he said.

Gachagua took the opportunity to appreciate the prayers of the church, noting that the presidential journey was not an easy one but God made it possible.

"We say thank you for your prayers for where we have reached . The journey towards this leadership was a difficult one. The boarders and rocks put on that path could not be lifted by an ordinary human being. It was the hand of God," he added.

Gachagua praised the President for keeping his promise on holding the first thanksgiving service will be held at State house gardens.

'When we met this met these anointed men and women of God. You ( Ruto)  promised them that when God answers our prayers and we ascend to power, the first opportunity and the first thanksgiving service will be held at State house gardens and here we are," he said.

The DP also commended his boss, for his commitment towards the church and for making it possible for the service to be held.

He revealed that together with other Kenya Kwanza leaders, they welcomed Ruto at JKIA  at 6am this morning  where he was determined to attend the service despite the long journey.

"I want to also thank your commitment to this service. You ( Ruto)  left abroad at late hours of the night and came to welcome you at the airport at 6 am because u were determined and said you didn't want to be late for this service," Gachagua said.
