Anxiety as Nairobians wait for IEBC to announce winners

Only three constituencies out of 17 have submitted their final results.

So far only three Constituencies out of 17 have submitted their final results. These include Langata, Kasarani and Makadara Constituencies. Albert Gogo Nguma, Nairobi County Returning Officer has said despite the delay in announcing the final results for the Governor, Senator and Women Rep, IEBC is still within the timeline.

As Kenyans enter day three of tallying, the winners of the Nairobi Governor, Senator and Woman Representative are yet to be announced.

According to  Albert Gogo Nguma, Nairobi County Returning Officer, only three Constituencies out of 17 have submitted their final results.

These include Langata, Kasarani and Makadara constituencies.

Gogo explained that IEBC is still within the timeline to announce the results.  

"We will wait for the results from the remaining constituencies," Gogo said.

He urged Nairobi residents to be patient and wait until the RO announces the results.

This is where the winner of the three top county positions will be announced from.

The Governor's race attracted nine candidates but it narrowed down to a two-horse race between UDA's Johnson Sakaja and Polycarp Igathe of Jubilee.

ODM's Edwin Sifuna is the Azimio coalition's candidate for the Senate seat while Woman Representative Esther Passaris is defending her seat on the ODM ticket.

UDA has fronted former Starehe lawmaker Margaret Wanjiru for Senate and Nominated Senator Millicent Omanga will run for Woman Rep.

The contest for parliamentary seats has been narrowed down to a battle between Azimio la Umoja One Kenya coalition led by Raila Odinga and the Kenya Kwanza led by Deputy President William Ruto. Azimio has bagged 13 constituencies while UDA has four.
