Azimio La Umoja spokesperson Makau Mutua has broken his silence regarding the ongoing presidential vote tallying.

Mutua, in a statement on Thursday, said that he will update Kenyans if something comes up.

"Some people wonder why the Azimio Spokesperson isn’t talking. Be assured he’s working hard. When he has something to say, he will do so. In the meantime, let’s all watch, follow, and verify what’s happening," he tweeted.

He urged Kenyans and Azimio supporters to remain optimistic as the tallying process continues.

Azimio camp on Thursday prepared its communication centre at the KICC as the coalition is reportedly planning a meet up with its successful candidates.

Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission has started receiving and verifying presidential election results forms physically from constituency returning officers.

Kenyans took to the ballot on August 9 to elect a new government.

IEBC is the only agency mandated to tally and announce presidential results.

However, the commission allowed media stations to conduct their own vote tallying and counting process.
