Three candidates have secured direct victory and are awaiting to be declared winners by the electoral agency before being sworn in.

IEBC chair Wafula Chebukati said they will be sworn in after the polls because no one enrolled to oppose them on the ballot.

The three include Kericho Woman Representative candidate Beatrice Kemei, Issa Aden who secured Sabena Ward MCA seat in Lagdera, Garissa County and Julius Kimutai, who will be sworn in as the MCA of Ravine Ward in Eldama Ravine Constituency, Baringo County.

Kemei and Kimutai are from the United Democratic Alliance (UDA)Party while Aden is from National Agenda Party.

Thousands of candidates have been growling to take the lead ahead of tomorrow's poll.

The lack of competitors for the three candidates made it easy for them to remain winners before the voters went to the polls.

Chebukati had noted that there has been a 2.6 million increase in the number of eligible voters in the country over the past five years.

"If you look at the enrollment rate, in 2017 registered voters by IEBC compared to eligible voters by KNBS represented 77.78 per cent and in 2022 it represents 79.41 per cent," Chebukati said.

Chebukati also said there has been a 13.08 per cent increase in the number of polling stations between the two general elections.

"In 2017, we had 40,883 polling stations, for 2022 we have 46,232 polling stations," Chebukati said.
