Education Cabinet Secretary Ezekiel Machogu has said 1,146 candidates attained a mean grade of A in the 2022 KCSE.
Speaking during the release of the KCSE results, Machogu said it was an increase as compared to 2021 results.
"Candidates that attained a mean of A in 2022 are 1,146 which is equivalent to 0.13 per cent as compared to 2012 which were 1,138," he said.
Machogu said 271 female students attained a mean grade of A.
"A total of 875 male students attained a mean grade of A, males have done better and I hope going forward, females will improve," he said.
Candidates can now access their results through the Kenya National Examination Council website.
