An image shared on social media platforms WhatsApp, Facebook, and Twitter claiming to show the Kenya Institute of Character Development is ALTERED.
The image shows the purported institution with blue text on the wall.
Below the text is wording denoting the institution’s motto that reads, “Nurturing Every Lover’s Potential”.
The post accompanying the image indicates that the institution’s December intake is ongoing.
Curiously, the logo of the fake institution is identical to that of the Kenya Institute of Curriculum Development (KICD), which evaluates and approves curricular and curriculum support materials for basic and tertiary education.
KICD also offers curriculum-based consultancy services in primary and tertiary education and training.
A reverse image search did not return any credible results of the fake institution except for some similar claims attached to the image in question on Twitter, and other Facebook pages.
A more specific Google search reveals the original image has blue text on the wall but does not contain the word “Character”, nor does the motto have the word “Lover’s” as claimed. This indicates that the image in question is doctored.
On a Twitter post, KICD posted both the legitimate image and the fabricated one and asked the public to ignore the latter.
