A key ally of Deputy President William Ruto from his Rift Valley backyard is not amused at all. Days after he crossed over from the Kieleweke camp that is allied to President Uhuru Kenyatta, he is now an unwelcome visitor in Tangatanga's Jerusalem. His entry, apparently linked to his gubernatorial ambitions in one of the populous counties in the Rift Valley, has unsettled some of the DP’s allies. He is seen as the Jonny come lately in the party, with some of the DP’s foremost lieutenants seeing him as an opportunist. As things stand, there is growing disquiet that he could complicate the political matrix and interfere with a pre-determined formula crafted by Ruto’s close associates to capture power in the county.

Still on Tangatanga matters, a slip of the tongue by an MP from Central Kenya during a meeting at DP’s Karen residence sparked a huge debate online. The MP inadvertently claimed that Kenyans will not elect a broke leader to be President, as she struggled to defend the DP’s wealth. The statement became easy fodder for Ruto's critics, who immediately seized and turned it into a massive online political arsenal against the DP. Many wondered if the MP had been taken through the DP’s bottom-up approach and the raging debate about his wealth before being handed the microphone. Perhaps the strategists might consider inducting fresh recruits on the philosophy of the hustler nation before being handed the podium.

A key political bigwig scheming his 2022 presidential bid could have goofed big time. In an attempt to market his agenda, he has come up with some snippets of his blueprint, which are shoddily crafted with glaring mistakes. For instance, in one of his items published on Friday digitally, the presidential hopeful struggled to properly package the information in the Kiswahili language. A terrible grammatical mistake exposed his team, with online keyboard warriors jumping in to rail on the technical staff over their incompetence. The mistake left the aspirant with an egg on his face

A senior politician from Northeastern has panicked. The MP, who has yet to make a decision on whether he will go for the governor’s position or defend his parliamentary seat, is having sleepless nights. One of his perennial political opponents has joined the camp supporting President Uhuru Kenyatta and ODM boss Raila Odinga. The lawmaker believes that the Uhuru-Raila team could sweep the region in the 2022 polls. With most of his rivals already in a dalliance with the handshake team, his options are becoming slim by the day, even as the next general election draws nigh. He could be in for a rude awakening next year if he fails to be strategic.
