That the Director of Criminal Investigations George Kinoti (pictured) is a man on a mission is not in doubt. Some MPs were heard saying the graft war is not Kinoti’s biggest achievement. To them, the DCI has been bursting other ordinary crime like murder and robbery in a level never witnessed in the country. They said under his watch, the DCI boss and his officers will only ask you to describe the crime scene. They will then tell you to go home as arrest will be made within 24 hours. The MPs are wondering what previous occupants of the same office have been doing over the years.

A Jubilee honcho from Mt. Kenya region who has been positioning himself for a higher office in the post-President Uhuru Kenyatta era, has gone ballistic on Deputy President William Ruto's allies. The politician who was said to have been laying ground to position himself as Ruto's running mate in 2022, uncharacteristically opened a warpath with the DP's innercircle over the weekend. The politician was attending a fundraiser in his backyard when he furiously referred to Ruto as the official leader of opposition after the next polls and warned his allies against barking the loudest. He said majority of the DP's allies only praise him for handouts and don't actually believe in a Ruto presidency. He said many of the politicians who hang around the DP's coattail cannot even afford lunch in a five-star hotel unless sponsored by Ruto.

A top civil servant angling for a vacant position at a lucrative parastatal within the Health sector, is fearing some forces are working against his bid to be confirmed to the position. Having risen from within to the position of acting CEO, the officer believes he has the relevant qualifications needed for the job, but fears that a section of politicians have ganged up against his bid. The body is set to advertise for the job in the next three months but forces pushing against the acting CEO's interest are scheming to bring him down. Will the man who has twice failed to assume the powerful position because of 'regional' balance this time around get the opportunity to serve the country? Will the handshake neutralise the ground for a change of 'tribe' at the helm of the powerful agency? Well, time will tell.

Has an accountant at Harambee House who was not cleared during the lifestyle audit been sneaked back? Corridors of Power is aware that the officer was initially asked to either go for early retirement or face the axe. But a few months after the audit was concluded, some 'higher powers' are said to have intervened and allowed the 50-year-old man back despite having failed the audit. Talk about sacred cows! Well, indeed this is an animal farm and all animals are equal, you thought? Not of course.
