Wiper Party leader Kalonzo Musyoka has paid an emotional tribute to Raila Odinga, describing him as a lifelong champion of justice, transparency and fairness whose values helped shape Kenya’s political conscience for generations.

In a statement reflecting on Raila’s legacy and the long-standing influence of the Odinga family, Kalonzo said Raila had lived and breathed the fight for justice, transparency and a fair nation.

He noted that his commitment to democratic ideals left a lasting imprint on the country.

“Our brother Raila lived and breathed the fight for justice, transparency and a fair nation. The values carried by the Odinga family have shaped the conscience of our country for generations, showing us what it truly means to put Kenya first,” Kalonzo said.

The Wiper leader spoke at the funeral of the former Prime Minister’s sister Beryl Achieng.

He recalled working closely with Raila and Beryl, describing those years as formative and inspiring.

According to Kalonzo, their shared journey strengthened his own understanding of public service grounded in integrity and principle.

“For many years I walked beside Raila and our sister Beryl, inspired by their unwavering belief in good governance, fairness and a Kenya where every voice matters,” he stated.

“Standing with them taught me what true dedication to country looks like, and what it means to fight for principles bigger than ourselves.”

Kalonzo said that despite the deep loss felt at this moment, the ideals Raila championed must continue to guide national leadership.

He urged Kenyans and political leaders to honour Raila’s legacy by safeguarding the values he stood for.

“Even in this time of deep loss, our work cannot stop,” he said.

“We owe it to both of them to protect the ideals they lived for and to keep pushing for a nation where justice and good governance are never compromised.”

Kalonzo concluded by calling on the country to preserve Raila’s light by remaining committed to building a just, united and democratic Kenya.

“This is how we honour them. This is how we keep their light alive,” he said.

Kalonzo was accompanied by DAP–K Leader Eugene Wamalwa and Embakasi South MP Julius Mawathe.

Beryl Achieng Odinga, who passed away on November 25, 2025 while undergoing treatment at a Nairobi hospital was the younger sister of the late former Prime Minister Raila Odinga.

A distinguished professional and trailblazer, Beryl’s life spanned continents and careers, leaving an indelible mark in both Kenya and Zimbabwe.
