
A 65-year-old man, Yussuf Lalafa Buya, was shot and killed at his home in Bura, Tana River County, on Wednesday, November 12.
Police said the men visited his house at dawn, called him to the door, and shot him at close range. He was hit four times and died at the scene.
The motive for the attack is not yet known. Police have recovered the body and taken it to a mortuary pending an autopsy and further procedures.
Authorities are investigating, noting that the area has recently experienced attacks linked to land and cattle-related conflicts.
In Kuresoi, Nakuru County, 31-year-old Mogendi Momanyi died in hospital on November 11 from injuries sustained in an assault on October 30.
Police said the attack was linked to a personal dispute, and the suspect is being sought for murder.
In Eldama Ravine, a convict identified as Stanley Koskey escaped from prison on November 12 during breakfast. Koskey was serving an eight-year sentence for theft and unlawful possession of another person’s identity card, with two other pending cases in Kericho courts.
Police and prison officials are conducting a manhunt.
In Marani, Kisii County, police are searching for a gang of five armed with an AK-47 who attacked a couple in Metembe village on Wednesday night.
The gunmen raided the home, fired shots into the air, and fled. The couple sustained serious injuries but are in stable condition at a local hospital. The motive of the attack remains under investigation.
Meanwhile, police in Ongata Rongai, Kajiado County, have arrested two suspects linked to a series of robberies in the Olekasasi area. Residents had reported a rise in criminal activity, prompting intensified police operations.
