A new chapter of transformation opened in Archer's Post, Samburu county, as President William Ruto officially laid the foundation stone for a government-backed affordable housing project, a key milestone in Kenya’s drive to provide decent and accessible homes for all citizens.
The launch, witnessed by a large and enthusiastic crowd, symbolised the government’s growing commitment to improving living standards in every corner of the country.
"We are investing Sh7.4 billion to build affordable housing, modern markets, and student hostels in Samburu County," Ruto said.
He emphasised that this investment will transform the face of the county, open new spaces for enterprise, create meaningful jobs and skills for our young people, expand access to decent housing, and unlock the full potential of the economy of Samburu.

He called on community leaders and stakeholders to fully support the initiative, noting that access to affordable housing is vital for community growth and empowerment.
The Archers Post project aims not only to ease the housing shortage but also to create employment opportunities, stimulate local business, and enhance the region’s economic growth.
Designed with modern, sustainable features, the new housing units will cater to low and middle-income families while maintaining cost-effectiveness and quality.
Residents expressed optimism, saying the development would transform their lives, provide security for their families, and boost their sense of belonging.
The attendance of construction workers, community members, and county officials underscored the spirit of collaboration driving the project forward.
