President William Ruto on Friday launched the Talanta Hela initiative which is meant promote youth's creativity and talents.
The initiative has been digitised following the launch of an application which will ease the process of scouting for creatives, nurture them and monetisation their skills.
The app is available on Play Store for android users and App Store for Apple users.
Once you download the app, enter your phone number followed by the OTP code sent to your phone.
You will then have to follow several steps to complete registration.
Under 'Your Information', enter your name, verify your phone number and enter your national identification number.
Then press 'create account'.
You will be redirected to another page for talents where you will be required to enter talent name, gender, date of birth and choose talent category.
There are two options including sports and creatives.
If you choose sports, you will have to indicate the specific sport for example football or basketball.
Next, choose the profile you want to upload your video to and select skills that describe what you are showcasing in the video.
Record or upload the file and then press submit.
This will take you to the talent screening hub where you will wait to be notified of progress.
Scouting Portal
Upon submission, the profile is assigned to the respective scout alongside the file submitted.
After reviewing, the scout will either approve or decline the profile with a reason for the choice.
If approved, the profile is assigned to the poll of scouts for a second review, who scores the profiles.
The profiles chosen by the system are invited for physical trials at the selection centres.
