- On his end, President Ruto has rubbished claims that he has abandoned his promises to Kenyans, months after his election.
- Ruto said he is determined to liberate Kenyans from poverty through job creation and economic empowerment.
Interior Cabinet Secretary Kithure Kindiki has asked Kenyans to have faith and believe that President William Ruto has good intentions for the country.
Speaking on Sunday, the CS said that Ruto's plan to transform Kenya is a major one and will make it happen.
"Just like the late Mwai Kibaki, President Ruto will take Kenya very far; he will not leave it where he found it," Kindiki said.
The CS spoke during a church service at the Kenya Assemblies of God in Sagana, Kirinyaga.
He said the President is a God-fearing man who seeks God's guidance in his work.
During Madaraka Daya celebrations, Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua also echoed the same and asked Kenyans to give his boss time to steer the nation.
The DP said that President William Ruto has a grand plan but will deliver when given time.
“We want to urge all Kenyans to allow our presidents an opportunity to steer this country back to economic prosperity,” Gachagua said.
On his end, President Ruto has rubbished claims that he has abandoned his promises to Kenyans, months after his election.
Ruto said he is determined to liberate Kenyans from poverty through job creation and economic empowerment.
"That effort is on course and together we are going to move in that direction," the President said.
In his speech during the Maraka Day national celebrations held at the Moi Stadium in Embu, Ruto insisted that, as he promised, under his leadership it will not be about power sharing.
"I promise the country that it is not going to be about sharing power by the elites and leaders, it is going to be about empowerment," he said.
The President said the empowerment will focus on interventions targeting farmers to bolster food production and job creation to expand the tax base.
"It calls for us the empowerment of every citizen and every business person so that we can contribute to the economy of our country," he said.
The President said the government will scale up aggregation centres in all 47 counties to enhance value and earnings for every Kenyan.
"We will make sure we protect the sweat of every Kenyan," he said.
