The Directorate of Criminal Investigations has revealed the details of how a blogger got the video of the late Sharon Njeri's last moments.

DCI boss Mohamed Amin said investigators had established that Njeri's husband, Michael Macharia Njiiri aka DJ Brownskin recorded the video and allegedly sent it to his female friend who lives abroad.

The lady then allegedly sent the video to a blogger, who went public by posting it on social media sites.

“Our teams are pursuing more leads in this case ahead of the appearance in court next week,” Amin said.

The video, released on April 1, showed Njeri drinking what is believed to have been poison before she started writhing in pain and everything goes blank.

It is then that the alleged poisonous substance took a toll on her and she succumbed.

We could not get a comment from Brownskin on the new revelations.

DJ Brownskin was arrested on June 1, at a popular club in Kasarani, Nairobi.

He is being held at Kasarani police station.

His arrest came after police obtained an order from the Makadara magistrate's court to hold him for seven days to complete investigations.

He is being investigated for aiding suicide contrary to Section 225 (c) of the Penal Code.

"Brownskin failed to prevent the commission of the said offence which led to the death of Sharon," police constable Wicks Lumumba of Kasarani said

She was buried at her parent's home in Koimbe Weithaga village, Murang’a, on August 6 last year. The case will be heard on June 9.
