Hearing of case against Ruto's CASs to begin

The hearing of a case in which the High Court halted the appointment of Chief Administrative Secretaries begins on Thursday in Nairobi.

The case will be heard by a three-judge bench constituted by Chief Justice Martha Koome.

The judges are Kanyi Kimondo, Hedwig Ong'udi, and Aleem Visram. Kimondo is the presiding judge.

CS Wahome to appear before senators 

Water, Sanitation, and Irrigation Cabinet Secretary Alice Wahome will on Thursday appear before senators over the controversial Water Resources Authority 2021 Regulations.

She will appear before the Committee on Delegated Legislation to respond to the petition by the Agriculture Sector Networks (ASNET).

MPs to vet Ruto's Judicial Service Commission nominees

Parliament is on Thursday set to vet two Judicial Service Commission (JSC) nominees recently nominated by President William Ruto.

The two former, Bomet Governor Isaac Rutto and Caroline Nzilani will appear before the National Assembly’s Justice and Legal Affairs committee (JLAC).

The notice inviting them to appear before the panel follows a two-week window period in which the public was to submit views on their suitability to serve in the Commission.

Retired officers in push to improve their welfare

Kenya Retired Officers (KARO) has announced a series of activities it seeks to undertake to reduce the suffering of its members.

The patron, Kiraitu Murungi, said many retirees are depressed because they cannot meet their basic needs and depend on their children, relatives, and well-wishers to sustain them and take care of their medical bills.

Somalia’s NISA official arrested in Mandera

A man believed to be a member of Somalia’s National Intelligence and Security Agency (NISA) was arrested in Mandera Town after crossing the border while armed with a rifle.

Police said Mohamed Sheikh Abdullah, 22, arrived in the town on May 22 at about 1 pm after crossing the main border while dressed in half uniform and wanted to know where he could get an alcohol shop.
