Azimio leader Raila Odinga has maintained that Pokot South MP David Pkosing will remain in Azimio's bipartisan committee panel.

It follows demands by the Kenya Kwanza counterparts that Azimio should withdraw Pkosing if they are to pull out Eldas MP Adan Keynan.

Speaking on Friday during a rally in Kibera, Raila said as much as Kenya Kwanza has withdrawn Keynan, Pkosing will remain put in the dialogue team.

"Pkosing was chosen under a party in Azimio, his party moved to Kenya Kwanza but they have not officially asked to do so. Pkosing has a right to remain in Azimio, Pkosing will remain in the Azimio delegation," he said.

On Friday, Kenya Kwanza agreed to conditionally recall Keynan from the bipartisan panel to salvage the talks from 'imminent collapse'.

In a statement, George Murugara who co-chairs Kenya Kwanza's 14-member team said the decision was arrived at to unlock the impasse on the composition of the committee so that the talks can move to the next level.

"To demonstrate our commitment to the one process of a peaceful bipartisan engagement, we are ready to recuse the Hon. Keynan from the process if the issue they consider to be in conflict with the Hon. Keynan will be part of terms of reference of the formal process," Murugara said.

The Azimio camp had insisted that the inclusion of Keynan in the talks was a move to sabotage the initiative, arguing that the MP is a member of the Jubilee party which is an affiliate of the coalition.
