A multi-agency security team operating in Laikipia County on Wednesday recovered 4 illegal homemade guns, capable of firing.

The security team said members of the public helped in the recovery.

"The support we received from the public which led to the recovery of the firearms is highly commendable," National Police Service tweeted.

"We urge any person in possession of any illegal firearm to immediately hand it over to the security agencies."

In another operation, the multi-agency security team conducting 'Operation Maliza Uhalifu North Rift' recovered 4 illegal firearms.

They also recovered 15 camels.

One G-3 rifle was recovered at Amoler Location in Pokot Central Sub-County, while three other rifles were recovered at Latakweny Village in Samburu North Sub-County.
