Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) Commissioner Alfred Mshimba will on Wednesday address all county secretaries in a meeting in Mombasa.

The leaders are assembled in Mombasa for an induction programme that kicked off in the morning at PrideInn Paradise Hotel.

The EACC engagement with the county secretaries comes days after the Commission issued a Circular to all Assembly Clerks directing them to immediately establish administrative measures to curb rampant cases of embezzlement of public funds through imprest.

EACC said accounting officers, county secretaries have key roles in the protection of public funds devolved to counties.

"Together with Governors, County Secretaries should proactively address systemic gaps that allow theft of public funds, ghost workers and other malpractices," EACC said.
