East Africa Legislative Assembly MP Winnie Odinga is among the leaders who took part in the Azimio protests in Nairobi.

In a video posted by leader Raila Odinga, Winnie was seen engaging in a chant with protestors.

She was in jungle pants and blouse, and a cargo half jacket.

Winnie is part of those who were in Raila's convoy, which passed through Juja Road, in an attempt to get to CBD.

Winnie earlier announced that she was going to participate in the picketing, lamenting that her phones had been hacked.

"All electronics hacked! All completely unusable, all dead! Meet me in the streets," she said.

Before the protests began, Raila called on Kenyans to awaken the spirit of fighting oppressive regimes as they have done in the past.

He clarified that the match to the president's office is not about any tribe, race or religion, but it's all about the well-being of Kenyans.

The convoy is however yet to get to State House, following barricading of roads by police.

President William Ruto's allies have previously criticised Raila for keeping away his family members while urging Kenyans to go to the streets to protest.
