Running battles and arrests have been the order of the day in areas where the protests have been held across the country.

Nairobi and Kisumu have been the most affected.

Reports say that Raila has been meeting other Azimio party leaders including Kalonzo Musyoka, Eugene Wamalwa and Martha Karua.

Before the protests began, Raila had called on Kenyan to awaken the spirit of fighting oppressive regimes as they have done in the past.

He clarified that the match to the president's office is not about any tribe, race or religion, but it's all about the well-being of Kenyans.

Raila's planned address however, failed to materialise following a confrontation with police.
