The government has made adequate arrangements in accordance with the law to protect property during Monday's planned Azimio demos in Nairobi.

Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua says the government will not allow destruction of property or peace in the capital to be destabilised and has urged Kenyans to go about their businesses without a worry.

"Those sponsoring your demos should stop living in denial. We are not cowered by your plans and we will not buy fear that you sold to President Kenyatta in the last regimes,"Gachagua said.

He was speaking in Kirinyaga on Saturday during an alumni meeting at Kianyaga Boys High School, his former school.

The DP called out the Azimio leaders led by Raila Odinga saying a time has come when they need to accept and reconcile with the truth of losing the 2022 elections.

He said it was wrong for them to continue living in denial and cautioned that the Ruto administration will stay put and will not be intimidated by Raila and his team just as he did during Uhuru Kenyatta's reign.

Gachagua said the handshake regime led the nation to suffer economically, a situation he said the current administration is striving to resuscitate.

As an old boy, Gachagua said he would help Kianyaga Boys in establishing and renovating various facilities in a bid to help improve its academic performance.

The deputy President also commissioned a borehole which will go along way in providing water for students at the school.
