The Kiambu rally came a day after Raila invaded Nakuru and vowed that the planned Monday protests would be peaceful.

The Opposition chief also maintained that he will not bow to pressure and give in to threats from the President, not any other government official.

Earlier this week while declaring the March 20 demonstrations the “mother of all protests”, Raila listed six reasons to justify it.

This includes nepotism in the Kenya administration, failure to consult other stakeholders in the reconstitution of IEBC, broken promises, an illegitimate government, refusal by President Ruto to allow the audit of the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC ) servers and the high cost of living after the government eliminated subsidies.

President Ruto, however, insisted that he will not allow any attempt by Odinga to "blackmail" the country, urging him to liaise with police over the planned demonstrations.
