Asante Sana! CAS picks speak after Ruto nominations

Some elated nominees went Biblical as others express gratitude to Ruto.

Some of the nominees to the plum Cabinet Secretaries position have expressed gratitude to President William Ruto.

President Ruto on Thursday nominated a record 50 political loyalists, opposition critics and long-term allies for CAS positions.

Following their nomination and despite the public uproar that they were bloating the executive, most of them took to social media to express their excitement.

Tourism CS nominee Wilson Sossion said the sector is a great service industry earning many countries' number one foreign exchange earnings.

"Malaysia without wildlife receives 23 million tourists annually(more than its National population). Kenya with its wildlife can do better than 3m annually. Thank you Mr President!"he tweeted.

On her part Interior CAS nominee, Millicent Omanga wrote: 

"Thank you The President of the Republic of Kenya William Ruto for the trust and honour bestowed upon me".

Foreign and Diaspora Affairs CS nominee Catherine Waruguru said her nomination was a demonstration of the president's confidence in her.

"Thank you President William Ruto for giving me the opportunity to serve as the Chief Administrative Secretary in the Ministry of Foreign and Diaspora Affairs. I’m grateful to God for this golden chance to be part of the team to implement Kenya Kwanza's development agenda," she tweeted.

Cooperatives CAS nominee bishop Margret Wanjiru went Biblical following her elevation to the executive saying she was grateful.

"Psalms 89: "Blessed are the people who know the joyful sound! In Your name, they rejoice all day long and in Your righteousness they are exalted," she tweeted.

On his part, former nominated senator Isaac Mwaura who was picked as CAS in the Prime Cabinet Secretary's Office thanked Ruto for the honour.

"Glory to GOD almighty! Thanks, President William Ruto & deputy President Rigathi for giving me an opportunity to serve as CAS in Prime Cabinet Secretary office, in the presidency. On behalf of persons with disabilities and Kiambu ahsante! To GOD and country, service above Self," he tweeted.

Former Narok Governor Samuel Tunai also thanked the president following his nomination as CAS in the ministry of interior.

"I am deeply humbled and thankful for the nomination by His Excellency the President, that I serve the country in the capacity of CAS for Ministry of Interior and Public Administration," he tweeted.

Foreign and Diaspora Affairs CAS nominee Joash Maangi said he had no words "to express my gratitude to him but just to say, Asante Sana".

"I look forward to serving the people of Kenya under the leadership and guidance of our President, his Deputy, and the Cabinet. I thank God, my family, friends and well wishers for the congratulatory messages and words of encouragement," tweeted the retired Kisii Deputy Governor.
