Azimio leader Raila Odinga has revealed details why former Mombasa Governor and key ally Hassan Joho has been skipping his rallies.

Joho is among leaders who have been conspicuously absent in most of Azimio rallies.

In an interview with KTN Tuesday night, Raila said that Joho has been unwell for sometime.

"Hassan Joho has been unwell, that is why he has not been seen but he is still together with us," Raila said.

He said that for now, he is focused on solving 2022 August poll issues and that there is still time to prepare for the next election.

The ODM leader said there are many leaders he can pass the baton to.

Recently, Raila led a prayer rally at  Jevanjee Gardens in Nairobi but key Azimio leaders skipped the event.

Apart from Joho, Suna East MP Junet Mohamed, former Gatanga MP Peter Kenneth and former Kitui Governor Charity Ngilu were absent.

Others were Governors Abdulswamad  Sharrif (Mombasa), Gladys Wanga (Homa Bay), James Orengo (Siaya), Simba Arati (Kisii) and Anyang' Nyong'o (Kisumu).

Kanu chairman Gideon Moi and  David Murathe also missed.

On February 7, Joho and Junet met with Raila, who clarified that the two are still part of his team.

"Had a refreshing lunch with my brothers. Tuko Imara!" Raila said then.
