Kenya will export tea, coffee, nuts, fruits and flowers to Algeria. It will also import oil and gas from the North African country, National Assembly Speaker Moses Wetang’ula has announced.

Wetang’ula made the announcement after a week-long tour of Algeria where he held discussions with the country’s minister for Energy and Mines Mohamed Arkab and his Trade and Export counterpart Kamel Rezig.

Algeria commands a vast energy sector as an oil-producing country while Kenya is a significant producer and exporter of tea, coffee, nuts and flower.

Ebby murder case

A former deputy principal will today be arraigned to face murder charges following the death of a student at her school in 2019.

Elizabeth Gatimu is a suspect in the murder of Ebby Noelle Samuels, a Form 1 student then, at CCM Gatanga Girls Secondary School, which has since changed its name to St Anuarite Gatanga Girls Secondary School.

Ebby died under mysterious circumstances in March 2019.

Murder trial of the late MP Muchai

The murder trial of the late Kabete MP George Muchai proceeds today.

Muchai, his driver Stephen Wambugu and two bodyguards/ police constables Samwel Lekakeny and Samwel Kimathi, were killed on the morning of February 7, 2015, in Nairobi.

Those facing the murder charges are Eric Isabwa, alias chairman Raphael Kimani, alias Kim butcher; Mustapha Kimani, alias Musto; Stephen Astiva, alias Chokore; Jane Wanjiru, alias Shiro; Margaret Njeri and Simon Wambugu.
