UDA ward reps in Kisii County Assembly on Wednesday asked president William Ruto to be more considerate to the community during the appointments of chief administrative secretaries.

Speaking to journalists in Kisii, the Ward Reps said they are still optimistic that additional slots would be dished out to the applicants from the larger Gusii region when the selection begins.

"The president is still full aware that majority of our people are behind him, ours is a kind request that he rewards them with a few additional appointments," said Bouse Mairura Masimba MCA, who read the statement.

Among those shortlisted for CAS seats include former Kisii Governor James Ongwae and his Deputy Joash Maangi.

Others are Milicent Omanga and Nyamira's former West Mugirango MP Vincent Kemosi.

Mairura said all those shortlisted have huge potential to help the Ruto administration to achieve its development agenda and thus the need to consider them.

Separately, the Mcas condemned the incident in which Azimio affiliated goons attacked a UDA youth procession on Saturday causing injuries to ten youth.

He said both parties should respect each other's functions without engaging the youth in a fight. .

Mairura claimed that many of those who attended the People Baraza rally last Friday where ODM leader Raila Odinga was in attendance were imported from the neighboring devolved units.

The agenda discussed there, with local Governor Simba Arati in attendance, does not reflect the wishes of the community, they said .

"The community cannot buy itself into agenda discussed with an imported crowd and which had no blessings of the local leadership," the group leader stated

The Ward Reps also criticized Governor Simba Arati for failing to initiate any development project, nearly five months since he assumed i office.

"It gets worse when the governor maked the embarrassingl admission on television that he has never done any single project since winning the General elections," said Mairura.

He told him to resign from office if he has no agenda.

The function was attended by among others Assembly Welfare boss Edna Bwari and former Kiogoro MCA Samuel Apoko.

Others are Darius Mosoti , UDA youth representative.

Bwari told former Interior CS Fred Matiangi to stop dragging the community to his troubles.

"He was in government, his term is over, let him respect those in power as other communities respected him when he was office," Bwari told journalists during the press conference at Magharibi Hotel.

She said any politician or government appointee should be ready to carry the cross of any sins he committed while in office.

Apoko told Ruto to give priority to former Kisii County former Deputy Governor Joash Maangi who has stood with him the longest.

"Let him consider all the applicants, three or posts coming our way will be highly appreciated," said Apoko.
