High Court on Wednesday deferred plea taking for Eastleigh crime buster Rashid Ahmed Rashid to March 3.

Justice Kanyi Kimondo deferred the plea that was scheduled for Thursday pending his ruling on whether he allow his prosecution or not.

The court on Wednesday morning heard the application by Rashid challenging his plea taking.

Rashid is to be charged with murder.

Last month, Rashid through his lawyers told the court that he was not on the run.

This is after he joined the virtual court from Garissa county and not Nairobi as the prosecution expected.

When asked why he was in Garissa and not Nairobi, Rashid told Justice Kanyi Kimondo that he went to deal with a family issue and was not on the run.
