Candidates to know fate as Machogu set to release KCSE results

More than 800,000 candidates who sat the 2022 KCSE examination will receive their results today.

Education CS Ezekiel Machogu is expected to release the results anytime from now.

Several education stakeholders have started arriving at the Kenya National Examinations Council office on Dennis Pritt road ahead of the announcement.

School principals in attendance include Virginia Wahome of Kenya High, John Kuria of Mangu High and Lenana school principal.

Last year, 884,263 candidates sat the Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education exam.

Male candidates were 405,962 while 420,845 were female.

The CS is not expected to reveal which candidate or school performed best in the exams.

This is in keeping with the new government policy of discouraging unhealthy competition between schools and candidates. 

Previously, the government outlawed ranking but revealed the identities of best-performing candidates and their schools.
