The Kenya Demographic and Health Survey report released on Tuesday indicates that Samburu is leading in teenage pregnancies countrywide at 50 per cent.
Trailing behind Samburu are; West Pokot (36 per cent), Marsabit (29 per cent), Narok (28 per cent), Meru (24 per cent) and Kajiado (22 per cent).
The countrywide survey was done on teenagers between the age of 15 and 19 years in 2022.
Kenya National Bureau of Statistics director Macdonald Obudho said Nakuru had 17 per cent of teenage pregnancies.
"Mombasa and Uasin Gishu tied at 11 per cent, while Kisumu had 10 per cent of teenage pregnancies followed by Nairobi with 9 per cent," the report read.
Nationally, 15 per cent of the ages of 15 and 19 women have ever been pregnant.
"This information will provide up-to-date estimates of socioeconomic, demographic, health and nutrition indicators to guide the planning, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of population," Obudho said.
