Authorities are investigating circumstances under which a handcuffed remandee suspect escaped from a hospital bed.
The suspect had been admitted to a city hospital after suffering from cholera.
The suspect was being taken care of by three prison warders at the hospital in an isolation ward after suffering cholera at his Industrial Area Remand cell.
The warders reported to police they realized he was missing on Monday night at about 9 pm.
They said the suspect who was facing stealing charges had been handcuffed against his bed but it is not clear how he managed to leave the cuffs there and escaped.
A search was conducted at the facility.
Police have since been alerted to help in searching for the suspect and take necessary action.
The warders were questioned as part of the probe into the incident.
