Christmas, they say, provides a unique opportunity to spend extra time together as a family, create memories and reconnect with spouses.

Most families normally use the long holiday to engage in outdoor activities like gardening, playing games or storytelling to the younger members of the family.

Uganda's President Yoweri Museveni and his wife Janet took the last activity in good stride and engaged their grand children in storytelling on Christmas Day.

"Like most grandparents, Mama @JanetMuseveni and I enjoy time with our grandchildren very much. We used Christmas day afternoon to continue teaching them about African heritage through sharing stories," Museveni said on Monday.
