Former Nairobi governor Mike Sonko has joined his family in celebrating his adopted son Satrin Osinya's transition to adulthood.
Sonko adopted Satrin and his brother Gift Osinya after their mum was shot dead by terrorists at Joyland church in Likoni.
Satrin was a year and a half when Sonko adopted them.
"Today I'm a very proud father after visiting my adopted son Satrin Osinya together with his other initiates at the PCEA church evergreen," Sonko posted on his Facebook.
Satrin and a group of other initiates are currently healing from a circumcision process.
The boys are now being transformed from childhood to adulthood through this rite of passage.
"We also interacted and celebrated with other father figures, uncles and male guardians who had also come to visit their sons," Sonko said.
Satrin and his brother Gift have been part of Sonko's family since then.
"Welcome to manhood son and always remember that as a family we love you so so much," he added.
