Governor Johnson Sakaja's cabinet has been sworn in after being approved by the county assembly.

Ten ministers will take charge of 10 departments in the devolved unit.

Sakaja asked the ministers to take charge of their responsibility immediately.

Speaking after their swearing-in, Sakaja called on the cabinet members to focus on the delivery of services.

He also told his CeCs that they should address MCAs' matters with speed.

“You are here to serve the people of Nairobi. Any matters arising from the MCAs should be addressed effectively,” Sakaja said.

The governor also challenged the CECs to work towards increasing the county’s revenue.

The CECs include Stephen Mwangi (Built Environment and Urban Planning), Michael Gumo (Innovation and Digital Economy), Brian Mulama (Talent, Skills Development and Care), Patrick Mbogo (Mobility and Works) and Charles Kerich (Finance and Economic Affairs).

Others are Ibrahim Auma Nyangoya (Boroughs Administration and Personnel), Rosemary Kariuki (Business and Hustler Opportunities), Maureen Njeri (Green Nairobi – Environment, Water, Food and Agriculture), Anastasia Nyalita (Health, Wellness and Nutrition) and Suzanne Silantoi (Inclusivity, Public Participation, and Customer Service).

After the swearing-in, the CECs will embark on the duty of assisting the governor and his deputy in ensuring the promises they gave to the electorate are fulfilled.

The county Assembly members earlier in the afternoon approved the cabinet nominees unopposed.

They gave them a clean bill of health after it was ascertained that all the nominees surpassed the requisite threshold to hold their respective offices.
