The National Cohesion and Integration Commission (NCIC) will on Friday launch a post-election analysis report.

An introductory report by the commission shows that the August 9 general election was largely peaceful.

It has, however, said there was a need for “healing and reconciliation to address the existing negative peace”.

In the run-up to the concluded poll, the commission mapped out political violence hotspots in the country using past records to pick out areas most affected by political violence in the past.

NCIC chair Samuel Kobia has said that as compared to the previous poll, the last election was peaceful with only a few incidences of violence reported in some particular parts of the country.

The commission is also expected to unveil a three-year roadmap towards strengthening peace and cohesion for prosperity in the country dubbed “Amani Kwa Ground”.

Interior and national administration cabinet secretary Kindiki Kithure is expected to grace the event.
