CS Owalo leads relief food distribution exercise in Migori

The CS said the government is determined to alleviate effects of long drought

ICT and Digital Economy CS Eliud Owalo on Saturday led the food distribution exercise in Migori.

In a statement on Saturday, the CS said that the government determined to facilitate the alleviation of the effects of long drought through famine relief intervention.

 

"I have this morning on behalf of President William Ruto presided over the launch of distribution of much-needed relief food at God Kwer, Suna West Constituency, Migori County," he said.

The National Drought Management Authority warned that the drought situation would get worse due to the failed rains with the number of counties affected by the dry spell also on the rise.

Among leaders who accompanied him were Suba South MP Caroli Omondi, former Migori governor  Okoth Obado,  former Awendo MP Jared Kopiyo and former Nyatike MP, Omondi Anyanga.

Others were UDA Migori County Coordinator Fred Siengo, Chairman Phares Odira, and Migori County Commissioner Michael Mwangi among other leaders.
