Former Manchester United striker Cristiano Ronaldo has reportedly agreed to a record-breaking £172.9 million-a-year contract (Sh25.4 billion) with Saudi Arabia's Al Nassr football club.
The Daily Mail reports that Ronaldo has agreed to a two-and-a-half year deal with the club that will see him play until the age of 40.
"Sources close to the former Real Madrid and Juventus superstar insist no deal has been signed and that Ronaldo remains focused on the World Cup with his country, but reports in Spain today claim the 'dizzying figures' have been agreed," the media outlet said quoting Spanish newspaper Marca.
Ronaldo parted ways with Manchester United on November 22 by mutual agreement after strained relations worsened but his TV interview where he accused club chiefs of betrayal.
The club said in a brief statement that they had parted ways with him with "immediate effect".
"Everyone at Manchester United remains focused on continuing the team’s progress under Erik ten Hag and working together to deliver success on the pitch," the club said in a statement.
Ronaldo left Old Trafford after two spells having scored 145 goals in 346 appearances.
