Kenya making strides in the right direction - Ruto

Says nation has walked away from politics of ethnicity, hate and division.

President William Ruto has said he is happy that Kenya is heading towards the right direction.

Ruto was speaking in a church event at Citam on Sunday.

He said in Kenya today the competition is not about politics but issues, programmes and development.

"I’m truly proud that Kenya is making strides in the right direction; we have walked away from the politics of ethnicity, hate and division," he said.

Ruto said the democracy in Kenya has matured referring to the peaceful elections that were held in August.

"We also set a new record for ourself that we have come of age and our democracy has matured. We can go to elections, vote, go to work and wait for the results in a peaceful tranquil manner," he said.

"We again thank God for giving us a peaceful elections."

The Head of State said he will buildn the foundation of the country around things that matter and he won't leave any region or community behind.

"God has given me the opportunity to be President at this time in our country. I will build the foundation, continue to consolidate the nation of Kenya around issues and around programmes," he said.

" I will continue to build a country that leaves no person, region or community behind because I believe it’s the will of God."
