Kisumu county is set to host the 10th Lake Region Economic Bloc summit.
The summit will be held on November 21 and 22 at Ciala Resort.
This is the second time Lakeside city will be hosting the summit.
The Kisumu Governor Anyang Nyong'o welcomed the LREB summit members, and developments partners and invited guests to the event.
On his official Facebook handle, the governor in a poster said " The LREB Summit Chair, former Kakamega GovernorWycliffe Ambetsa Oparanya, and I welcome all to the 10th Summit".
The theme is "Laying the Foundation for Sustainable Utilization of Shared Resources".
Registration and Exhibition ahead of the summit are currently ongoing.
The event was to be held from October 25 to 27 but was postponed due to an avoidable circumstance to this month.
The Lake Region Economic Bloc presents the socioeconomic aspirations of 14 counties in the Lake Basin Region and seeks to boldly secure and shape the region’s destiny.
The Counties include, Kisumu, Homa Bay, Migori, Siaya, Nyamira, Kisii, Nandi, Bungoma, Kakamega, Vihiga, Trans Nzoia, Busia, Kericho and Bomet.
The leaders from the counties came together with the objective of helping leverage the various available resources through a common market orientation.
This is to ensure that the livelihood of approximately 14 million residents are improved
To ensure this is achieved, summit conventions are held on a rotational basis by member counties.
The last summit was held in Kisii County.
The Bloc's mission is to achieve sustainable development through coordination, promotion, resource mobilization, innovation and enhancement of equitable economic integration in the lake region.
