A man's body was on Sunday morning found lying along Nairobi- Garissa Highway at Kanyonyo, Machakos County.

The body which had visible injuries was still lying on the road by 10.00 am when the Star team visited the scene.

Police officers from the Masinga sub-county were at the scene.

An officer told the Star that it was suspected the man might have been murdered elsewhere and his body dumped on the road.

"This body might have been dumped here after he was murdered elsewhere. There are no signs that he was killed in a road accident," an officer told the Star.

He said they were waiting for DCI homicide detectives to process the scene before the body is moved to the mortuary.

"We could have removed the body from the Highway a long time ago if it were an accident," an officer said.

An officer told the Star that they were informed of the body at around 6.00 am on Sunday.
