Samburu West MP Naisula Lesuuda has said bandits have dared President William Ruto on the war against insecurity.

Speaking on Monday, the lawmaker said she had received a report that an attack had happened in Samburu and goats were stolen.

“This morning when I woke up, I received a message that there was an attack and a family lost 200 goats. That is the situation as we speak,” Lesuuda said.

Lesuuda said the bandits had dared Ruto because the attacks came a day after the president talked tough on insecurity and bandits.

“On the eve President Ruto was in Baragoi an attack had happened. The  President was talking tough. Don't try me,” he said.

“He has been dared this morning. There is so much impunity in the north Lesuuda said.

Last month, over 4,000 displaced Turkana bandits attack victims pleaded for help after the gruesome killing of Turkana-born peace crusader Mary Kanyaman.

She was among 11 people including some eight GSU officers ambushed and shot dead by armed bandits at Namariat village, Napeitom ward near Kapedo in Turkana East on September 4.

As a result, Ruto issued a stern warning after the attack and said that his administration will not condone cattle rustling.

“Cattle rustling will stop na sio tafadhali,” he said.
